My name is Jordan, I run an entity known as Self Shift Rational Meditation. I’m launching the second run of my meditation and philosophy course on a donation basis starting September 16. I’m writing this post to invite anyone who is interested in improving their lives and wants to start or deepen a meditation practice to join.
I’m not much of a salesman so I won’t be pushy or anything in this post – I just want to give you an idea of what I’ve created and share the ideas that have transformed my life, and transformed the lives of the students who took part in my first offering of the course earlier this year.
I will probably start charging an upfront fee for the course at a later date but at this point the upside for me offering it on a donation basis is getting more people involved so I can further polish the course content and increase brand awareness.

The foundation of the course is the STEPFEF method of meditation, a new process-based system to drop into the meditative state. I’ve worked on and polished this system over a number of years to make it an almost foolproof way to enter the meditative state without any of the usual blockages and frustrations people experience when they attempt to meditate. People from the last running of the course reported that in just four weeks of practicing this method meditation went from a challenge to being the most beautiful, indulgent part of their day.
I know personally that there is great power in what I’ve created - those who know me have seen me suffer greatly in life – I was diagnosed with bipolar at 20 years of age in 2005 but my obsessive thoughts with suicide started at least as young as 13. These thoughts were so pervasive that I just accepted them as a part of my life, but after doing the work and contemplating the ideas in this course I have been depression and suicidality free for two years. That’s basically a miracle for me after 24 years of conditioning to think a certain destructive way. But more than that I have lost the ability to feel anxiety, frustration and stress, those states have just dropped out of my experience of life and reality. Students who took my first running of the course reported similar experiences.
The course is all logic based, stemming from your direct experience of reality. There’s no beliefs, no vibes, I’ve made this course to be as logical as possible, and part of my purpose in running these live sessions is to have my ideas questioned and challenged, so I can make the logic and product as strong as possible. At the core of the meditation system is two words – ‘seek truth,’ so if you’re a person who likes to question things and drill down to the concrete answers and certainty beneath concepts this course could be great for you.
𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭:

We also cover how the body plays a role in enhancing the illusions of our thoughts and learn how to process our emotions in a matter of minutes rather than having them drag our over hours or even days. As I say the body is a conduit for emotions, not a container. ‘An emotion judged is an emotion suppressed is an emotion perpetuated, while an emotion accepted is an emotion experienced is an emotion released.’ Two modules focus pretty heavily on the body, for to have a still mind we need to have a still body; the natural state of the body is relaxation, which is something that we can experience directly as truth in the meditation practice.
In the later modules we investigate identity, pull away the things we are not – the fears and limitations to find what we truly are. We cover the tricks the ego uses to keep us in our addiction of thought and learn how to negate these compulsive thoughts with logic. We also learn how to soak up more of the beauty in our experience of life by removing the thought labels that deaden our experience of the beauty of reality, discovering the incredible beauty that lies beneath what the mind labels as mundane.
Finally we cover something I call ‘The Shifting Path of Desire.’ When we’ve stripped away all that we are not we discover what we truly desire in life and learn how to orient ourselves to our best life, free of obstacles and frustrations, those things being replaced by neutral feedback to be accepted as we discover the joyful path we can walk to live our best life.
𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬:
The course will be run over zoom at 7pm Monday nights Brisbane Time starting September 16. The lectures will also be recorded and uploaded for those who can’t make the live sessions. The duration of each session will be around 1 – 1.5 hours and there are practices each week to integrate the ideas into our lives in a tangible, life-changing way. If I get enough people who are in different time zones I can open up separate zoom calls for interaction and questions and will also give people the chance to bring questions to me so we can discuss life challenges and how the course applies to them. If people are happy to share these sessions they can be uploaded so that others may learn from them as well.
𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:
What you need to get the most out of this course is an ability to consider some novel concepts and a commitment to the practice of meditation. Committing to just 15 minutes a day of putting down the phone and seeking truth, experiencing true reality will be enough to cement the ideas into your experience of reality and make lasting changes to your self. Using the method I have created soon you will probably want to do more than 15 minutes just because of the pleasure that is released by having a foolproof system to enter the meditative state.
The suggested donation for the course is $300. As I’ve said if you can’t afford that, just come along, this isn’t about money for me, so only contribute if you are financially able to and you get real tangible life change from the ideas in this course. If you’re doing well financially a higher donation to cover those who can’t pay is of course welcome. I will use the money to try to spread my core goal of ‘less pain, more beauty’ further out into the world by studying business, marketing and advertising the course more.
Realistically I know a course like this could be sold for thousands of dollars with the right marketing, so if the ideas I have presented here are of interest to you this could be a great chance to get in on something great at the early stages and make real change in your life as my previous students did. I invite you to finish 2024 with strength and set yourself up for a purposeful, peaceful and productive year in 2025.
