Yes I will give you the philosophical underpinnings to apply my unique STEPFEF (Surrender, Trapeze, Experiment, Pleasure, Filter/Experience, Feel) technique to drop into deep meditation faster than you ever thought possible, but over the course of eight weeks I will run you through the following modules that will not just show you how to meditate, but fundamentally change how you view yourself and your relationship with your experience of reality, leading to a greater sense of peace and purpose in life:
An initial longer-format zoom session, in this session we will go about creating a philosophical foundation for the rest of the course – using timelines and graphs we ask what are our most and least accurate thoughts and predictions, are we investing our energy and attention in high or low-probability potentialities? If it is true that we can experience thought and reality at the same time, which of the two has primacy in our lives as we are now? What is the optimal way to experience reality and make decisions? We disprove Descartes’ ‘I think therefor I am.’ Are you the thinker, the commander of thoughts? Or sometimes, are you the thought? Do you always consciously choose your thoughts? And if you are what you think, what does this mean for how you represent yourself in reality? Finally we lay the groundwork to begin a meditation practice starting at only ten minutes per day, building upon this over the course of the sessions. No frustration, just like a jogger is a person who laces up their shoes every day, we enter into a simple, hassle-free, protocol-based practice to be built upon week by week, complemented by teachings in the subsequent modules.
In this session we will cover the STEPFEF method of meditation, finding logical truths to settle the mind before diving into a deeper experience of reality, and finally experiencing the bliss that is being ourselves as a part of reality.
Core to finding your true purpose in life, recognise that as a concept you will never be completely whole – you may have experienced this in life before - whatever goal or achievement you attain – the job, the relationship, the status, you cross the finish line and within a week or two you’re asking yourself ‘is this it?’ Learn instead that you are whole and complete as you are here and now, that you don’t HAVE to do anything to have that sense of completeness, it is inherent to what you are already – an expression of reality, in reality. We will strip away false ideas of who we are like our changeable personality, to rediscover the thread of energy that runs through our life – we ARE reality trying to express itself through our righteous desires. Finally we will discover the tightrope we walk trying to be a ‘person,’ and that beneath that tightrope is a safety net of peace you don’t need to do anything to attain, all that is required is to let go of this habit of maintaining the self as a concept. ‘It takes effort to be a person, it takes zero effort to be.’
An emotion judged is an emotion suppressed is an emotion perpetuated. An emotion accepted is an emotion experienced is an emotion released. How the idea of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ emotions is like looking at a sunset and saying ‘no, not that particular colour, I don’t like it.’ Learn to recognise and attain the peace-based default state of physicality and recognise when it changes. Discover the connection between emotions and the body and their interplay with the mind. How to experience emotions without judgement, physically and rather than trying to cram in another feeling on your ‘emotional blackboard,’ learn to keep a clean slate – emotions come in, they are experienced, we return rapidly back to a state of peace rather than letting our emotions influence our thoughts and create a state of suffering.
Where we learn that in our usual state of being we exist more as a concept than as reality. We cover a core question - 'are you a thought experiencing reality, or are you reality experiencing a thought?' By working through this module we remove all that we are not from our selves and find what we truly are. This is a key idea to work through if we are to live our best lives in reality.
Where we learn, through logic that ‘a tree is not a tree.’ That all meaning is subjective and an extension of the conceptual self, how to experience the incomprehensible beauty of the ‘mundane,’ discover that the base state of existence is peace and love, how to connect to your true self and EXPERIENCE that there is no disconnect between this self and all that you experience. Finally how to enter into a flow state on command whenever you are engaged in an activity that doesn’t require conscious thought using the ‘truth infusion’ method.
Where we go deeper into the inner workings of the human experience and conceptual self, to understand why we have the thoughts we do. Rather than trying to police individual thoughts recognise the patterns and reactive impulses that lead to individual thoughts and fast-track our journey towards a more peaceful existence.
Learn, again through logic, that problems don’t exist, they cannot exist, they are merely a juxtaposition between truth and the hypothetical. We ask the question how can a truth and falsehood exist in the same breath? How to accept what is. The Magic Mirror – how an integral part of the creative process is hijacked unconsciously to create pain rather than beauty and perpetuate ‘problems,’ and how to rectify this dysfunction. The Potential Certainty - how projecting in time can give surety to possibilities that are purely hypothetical. The three topics covered in this module will allow you to find far greater peace in your day to day life and take better action as a result.
Once we have stripped away all that we are not we see that desires exist beyond the realm of thought, that in a sense we are only our true desires in the present moment. We learn that we are on a path in life that is exploratory - we learn how to accept feedback from reality as the limits of our path and through this acceptance and the courage we've gained through the course to pursue our desires we learn how to live our best lives.
What’s most important to me in life now is momentum. I’m not interested in taking someone’s money and not getting them results, I want the momentum that comes with seeing my work make a change in another person’s life. In order to get the most out of this course you will need:
· A determination to pursue the things in life that are most important to you no matter what.
· An openness to personal transformation
· An unquenchable thirst for truth, novelty, new experiences and beauty
. The ability to commit just fifteen minutes a day to the meditation practice.
The course will be delivered over a eight-week period, starting with the initial longer-form 'Introduction to Truth' zoom session, followed by video content for each subsequent module as well as weekly clarification zoom calls, a private facebook group, group text support with Self Shift weekly practice tasks and bonus content delivered each week.
